We're giving away the trip of a lifetime. And the more you know about the MKC Project Milan trip, the better you'll do! Get started now!

We’re spreading the word about an exciting contest where you can win a portfolio shoot trip to Milan Italy.

The winner of Project Milan 2010, will receive a FREE, *7-day/6-night trip to Milan Italy in 2010

Each winner will *receive:

  • Round-trip air transportation for one person
  • Shared Hotel Accommodations at the Westin Palace Hotel in Milan (2 persons)
  • 1 day guided tour of Milan, Italy
  • 2 day portfolio shoots with notable Italian photographers
  • A Meeting with a world class Fashion Agent who will advise you on your career in the Fashion Industry and discuss the ins and outs of working in Europe.

    Student Eligibility
  • Masters Program Students who graduate in the year 2009 and thereafter, are eligible to win. Students will qualify for the year they graduate in.
  • One student per year will win based on the highest grade scores during the 10-week Masters Program.
  • The overall winner will be announced by the first week of the following year in which the student has graduated.
  • In the event of a tie, students will be required to submit an essay and their portfolio to be voted on by the MKC and European panel

    Alumni Eligibility
  • All alumni in good standing that have not previosly participated in the MKC Milan Project will be eligible to enter the contest

    Alumni Entrance Requirements
  • Submit an original 300-word essay describing what it means for you to win the trip to Milan as well as what you have been doing as a Professional Artist since graduating
  • Submit a current portfolio
  • Submit a current resume
  • Submit a final photograph that you will be judged by our MKC and Milan panel of judges.

    Evaluation Process
  • Margaret Kimura-Heymann, Mike Heymann and Patricia De La Rosa will review the top 10 alumni for each year, then submit the top 5 to our 4 judges in Milan who will pick the final winner.

    Trip Dates
  • Dates will be scheduled for the year following the year in which the student and alumni has qualified. Final dates will be determined based on availability and scheduling of portfolio shoots.
  • Due to scheduling challenges in Milan, dates are not open to negotiation, if a winner is not able to participate in the Milan Project Trip, the next runner up will take their place. There are no refunds, rescheduling or exchanges for a trip which is not taken and artists will need to reapply for the next year if they wish to be considered a second time.

*Meals and transportation when in Milan are not included. All Travels in the USA will be departing to Milan from Los Angeles (LAX) or New York (JFK), All other departure location must be arranged and agreed to by MKC. The Hotel room will be for the 2 winners to share. Any extra arrangements are not included by MKC and must be paid and taken care of by the individual winner. (I.e. food/beverages and room service, in room expenditures, taxis, guides...etc.)
