Cash:
Paying your tuition with cash has it's obvious advantages, you can start
your education anytime your choose, no interest charges and no long term
commitments.
Saving Money
- One way that many students pay for their education is good old
fashion saving. Whether you put away a little money each week into an
interest account, hide it under your mattress, the important thing to
remember is be consistent. If you are ambitious you can save for an
entire program or you can save for one course at a time. Just do it!
Dreams don't just happen! (Drawback - This can take a while depending
on your income.)
Family and Friends
- None of us like to ask for money, but don't forget the gift of
giving. Many people in your life would love to be a part of your dream.
Perhaps you even have a close friend or relative that has shared the
same dream and would like to share in the manifestation of your dream.
This avenue of finance will save you money, while allowing others to
share in your happiness. ( Drawback - Emotions - Commit yourself to
paying it back as soon as possible.)
Home Equity
Line of Credit: When
cash is not a possibility, the next place you should go to pay for your
education is family and friends that own property. The reason this is
the most logical second choice is because of the extremely low interest
rates for lines of credit and home refinancing. You will save thousands
of dollars with the much lower interest rates. Repayment of home equity
lines of credit are also much more flexible, with the ability to take
15 years or even more to repay your education.
Student/Private
Loans : When all else fails, student loans and personal lines
of credit may be your only option. Qualifying will be based on your personal
credit scores and ability to repay and that of your co borrower. Your
interest rates will also depend on you and your co borrower's credit status.
Although you may end up paying a higher interest rate, attending school
is your main focus and there isn't anything more important to your future
then your education. Below are a few of the options available:
Sallie
Mae Smart Option Student Loan -
Scholarships, grants and federal loans are a great way to finance
an education. But when those don't cover all your education costs,
the Sallie Mae Smart Option Student Loan® can help. Borrow
as little as $1,000 or as much as you need to pay for your qualified
higher education expenses.
With the Smart Option Student Loan, you'll establish and build
your credit by making interest-only payments while in school,
and for 6 months after graduation. Making payments while in school
reduces the total cost of your loan which could save you hundreds
— even thousands — of dollars over the life of your
loan.
Apply with a creditworthy cosigner — his or her good credit
may help you qualify and/or lower your interest rate, saving you
even more money. For faster results, you and your cosigner can
complete the application at the same time.
Private
Lending Companies - Next to family and friends this is probably
the fastest route available to locate funding for your education.
As with any other type of secured or unsecured loan your rates
will depend on your credit rating or the rating of the friend
or family member assisting you. If you are willing to take out
a loan for a car, why not your future? The investment is as good
as your commitment to succeed. Fill out the Financial Aid
Form Below for more information or Call for more information:
